Greg Newman, Managing Partner


Greg formed Joule Investments with Kevin Clark in 2008 to take advantage of the burgeoning need for alternative energy in emerging markets.


In 1999 Greg co-founded Integrity Partners, a seed stage venture capital firm, where he is currently a General Partner. Integrity Partners was the first investor in Baidu (NASDAQ: BIDU) where Greg served on the Board of Directors until taking the company public in 2005. Prior to Integrity Partners, Greg co-founded C2B Technologies, a company subsequently acquired by Inktomi and later Yahoo! and Macromedia, subsequently acquired by Adobe.


Greg has over twenty years of executive leadership experience creating shareholder value at Fortune 500 companies including Oracle and Apple. He currently serves as a director for several charitable organizations focused on community development.



Kevin Clark, Managing Partner


Kevin formed Joule Investments with Greg Newman in 2008 to take advantage of the burgeoning need for alternative energy in emerging markets.


Kevin Clark is a General Partner at Integrity Partners, where he has played leading roles in the firm’s investments since 2000. While at Integrity Partners, Kevin also co-founded Silicon Edge Law Group, where he is currently a partner. Prior to joining Integrity Partners, Kevin worked as an engineer and patent attorney for Qualcomm.


Kevin holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Berkeley, an M.S. in electrical engineering from the University of California at San Diego, and a J.D. from Stanford Law School, where he graduated Order of the Coif.



Andrew Cavaghan, Managing Partner


Andrew has spent the past two years working in Sierra Leone, West Africa, developing business and government contacts while pursuing a number of infrastructure investment opportunities.


Prior to this, Andrew was a Director at UK based private equity firm, Octopus Investments. He was part of the original investment team and during his tenure funds under management increased from $30m to over $1bn in 2009, (currently over $3bn).


Andrew has over ten years experience in corporate finance, private equity and law having bought and sold multiple businesses generating a realized IRR of 50%. Andrew is a qualified Barrister in the UK.



Mark Green, Managing Partner


Mark started work in Sierra Leone in 2008 as Head of Operations for a microfinance organization, which he helped grow to 25 staff and 3,000 loans. In 2009, Mark left this venture to join Andrew in pursing larger infrastructure investment opportunities.


Prior to working in Sierra Leone, Mark co-founded a property investment and development company operating in the UK and USA with over $20m of development completed. Mark’s prior experience additionally includes working in the strategy team at Accenture and as the Head of International Business Development at a retail financial services firm.
